Projects winter season 2010-2011:
Donating gear to Comunity Based Tourism Arslanbob, Kyrgyzstan

Gear4guides has donated gear to Mr. Hayat Tarikov, a self taught skier and coordinator of Community Based Tourism Association (CBTA) Arslanbob, Jalal-abad region, Kyrgyzstan. Hayat is responsible for managing winter tourism in his community. In average he's hosting and guiding about 60 clients in wintertime from all over the world. Hayat is not only busy with guiding foreign skiers but he's also setting up a kids ski school because in his opinion they should be involved in winter tourism in the future. At least 85% of the community is unemployed in wintertime! That's why it's of high importance to have these kids onboard! The town has a high potential for being perfect freeride base; it is surrounded by at least 11 peaks higher than 4.000 meters. So far Hayat has done a tremendous job in promoting the Village but also to have the infrastructure ready for being a host. Guesthouses are ready, he constructed a few bridges and a few Sheppard lodges have been been prepared for staying over high up in the mountains.
