In 2004 me and Harmen met these bunch of guys on our maiden trip to “exotic” Bulgaria. The “BEFSA” (what’s in the name ) is a group of Bulgarian freeskiers who have the aim to develop and popularize the freeskiing sport in Bulgaria. The Rila Lake Hut deeply rugged in the Rila Mountains is their hang-out from where events like Big Mountain and Freeride competitions and ski meetings and small scale expeditions are organized. When you have the chance going there ask Momchil, travel manager, to make a tour to the famous Rila Monestry, it’s a one-of-a-kind experience.
